Description

To generate more specific immune responses, the vaccine science moved from complex antigens like inactivated viruses to more targeted approaches like peptide or small protein antigens. The more tailored design comes with a price of reduced antigen-intrinsic immunogenicity. To generate effective vaccines, many antigen candidates require an adjuvant, that strengthen and broadens the immune response. To date, there are different adjuvant systems available, which have different compositions and mechanism of actions, resulting in different use cases. The webinar will discuss the state of the art of vaccine adjuvants and how they can contribute to the development of safe and efficacious vaccines for Global Health vaccine candidates. This comprises an overview of the currently used adjuvant systems, formulation considerations, quality control, preclinical test systems and down selection approaches for different antigen/adjuvant candidates. The webinar will also present VFI’s portfolio of open-access adjuvants, available at GMP grade to support clinical development for LMIC applications.

In this Webinar you will learn:

How GMP-grade, accessible adjuvant technologies can support affordable vaccine development for LMIC applications.

Current adjuvant landscape and their importance for global Health Vaccines

Considerations around vaccine formulation with regard to mechanism of action, formulation, quality control etc.
