Title: Webinar – Raman technology to enable real-time upstream bioprocess monitoring of CPPs and CQAs and continuous control: From media preparation to cell culture expansion
Raman spectroscopy is widely acknowledged as a crucial component of the Process Analytical Technology (PAT) approach in bioprocessing, which is aimed at ensuring predefined product quality and performance standards. This study showcases Raman technology in combination with chemometrics as an effective solution for in-line and real-time monitoring of critical process parameters (CPPs) and critical quality attributes (CQAs) in the upstream process (USP) of bioprocessing. The solution provides a complete understanding of the process by enabling multi-factorial monitoring. It ensures the quality control of the cell culture media preparation while also enabling an automated feeding strategy that ensures precise control of the cell expansion process. Moreover, real-time monitoring of the glycosylation profiles serves to confirm that product quality standards are met.
