Korea’s EuBiologics Received WHO Prequalification for its Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine

Congratulations to our member company EuBiologics on securing WHO prequalification for its typhoid conjugate vaccine, EuTYPH-C Inj.!

EuBiologics is no stranger to global health impact. Since its oral cholera vaccine Euvichol received WHO prequalification in 2015, it has delivered more than 200 million doses through UNICEF, becoming one of the most reliable and trusted suppliers of cholera vaccines in the world and played the main role in outbreak response and prevention efforts across the countries most affected. That track record built on large-scale production, cold chain logistics, and regulatory excellence is not easily replicated, and it is a source of enormous pride to have EuBiologics as part of the DCVMN network.

With EuTYPH-C, EuBiologics now brings that same commitment to another critical global health challenge. Typhoid fever continues to cause more than 7 million cases and over 90,000 deaths each year, with children under 15 bearing the heaviest burden, and drug-resistant strains raising the urgency for preventive vaccination. Adding EuBiologics to the small group of qualified suppliers of TCVs is genuinely welcomed news for the countries and children who stand to benefit.

This milestone is also a first for the Korean regulatory system, as the inspection by Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety was recognized as part of a WHO prequalification assessment for a new vaccine, thus highlighting Korea’s regulatory system standing in the global architecture and paving the way for future Korean vaccine products.

Achievements like this are exactly what our network is about.
