On April 10, following his participation at the World Local Production Forum, DCVMN CEO Mr. Rajinder Suri joined the full-day meeting of the Regionalized Vaccine Manufacturing Collaborative (RVMC) in Abu Dhabi.
The RVMC aims to translate political will into practical, coordinated action to strengthen regional vaccine production. This particular meeting brought together diverse stakeholders from across the vaccine ecosystem to align on concrete steps to achieve four core goals:
1️⃣ Achieving predictable demand for regionally produced vaccines
2️⃣ Balancing global, regional, and national priorities
3️⃣ Facilitating knowledge exchange
4️⃣ Strengthening the vaccine ecosystem
Mr. Suri presented during the session on “Country and regional decisions that impact achieving predictable and sustainable demand.” Drawing on the collective experience of DCVMN members, he provided selected insights reflecting the network’s evolving role in regional manufacturing strategies. Mr. Suri highlighted some key elements, including the importance of technology transfer, sustainable pricing, capacity building, and assured market commitments. He emphasized that trust and predictability must serve as the foundation for stronger partnerships between manufacturers and buyers and that commitments must be seen not only as words but as actions.
These themes strongly align with DCVMN’s mission to support a more equitable, resilient, and regionally empowered vaccine landscape that ensures sustainable access for all. As the global health community works to strengthen local production and demand, DCVMN remains a committed partner in bridging innovation, manufacturing, and access across the Global South.
