What began five weeks ago with virtual modules and interactive sessions concluded last week in Trieste, Italy, where the 7th edition of the DCVMN Technology Transfer Training (TTT7) reached its conclusion.
Over three intensive days at the ICGEB Biotechnology Development Unit, in a GMP-like environment, participants applied the theory learned in the previous five weeks into practice, working directly with equipment and processes that mirror the real conditions of vaccine manufacturing facilities. This in-person segment is what makes the DCVMN Technology Transfer Training truly unique. Technology transfer is not just about receiving knowledge, it is about being equipped to execute it successfully. That requires familiarity, confidence, and hands-on experience that no virtual module or theory alone can provide.
This is precisely why these trainings matter. Successful technology transfer in developing countries depends not only on access to the technology itself, but on the human capacity to understand, implement, scale it, and ultimately to pass that knowledge on to colleagues and teams back home. The DCVMN Technology Transfer Training is built exactly around that conviction.
We extend our warm congratulations to the 10 participants from 7 companies across Bangladesh, China, India, Senegal and South Africa who completed TTT7, and our sincere thanks to our partners at ICGEB for their support in delivering this edition.
We look forward to seeing the impact this cohort will bring back to their companies and to the communities their vaccines serve!
