Powerful momentum for vaccine self-sufficiency in Africa. On 15 February, DCVMN CEO, Rajinder Suri, represented DCVMN at the side event launching ACHIEVE Africa, co-hosted by International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and Member States of the African Union, alongside Africa CDC and African Medicines Agency (AMA).
We are a proud to support ACHIEVE Africa, a 5-year, African-led initiative to accelerate the development of safe & effective vaccines & biologics in the region.
Mr. Suri was invited to attend and brought the practical perspectives from our Network on what is needed to achieve vaccine self-sufficiency. These are not abstract goals, as DCVMN we already count five member manufacturers across Africa and are scaling technical and R&D-focused trainings. We will be launching further trainings in 2026 to equip African scientists and manufacturers with the skills to advance homegrown discovery and development.
ACHIEVE Africa’s open call for partners aligns with DCVMN’s vision of collaborative ecosystems, led by African institutions and industry, as the fastest path to resilient, locally-driven vaccine innovation. We look forward to supporting the ACHIEVE Africa initiative to turn this vision into reality.
