Time: 12 PM to 01:30 PM (CET)
Description: Forever chemicals (also known as PFAS chemicals) have become a media focus over the past 12 months around the globe. This attention has arisen due to PFAS chemicals being detected in many areas of our environment and in manufactured goods, including water, food products, cookware, and potentially pharmaceuticals. Of major concern are the health impacts of these chemicals on humans and other living organisms. New regulations being considered by the European Chemicals Agency may disrupt the use of PFAS chemicals in pharmaceutical manufacturing systems. Participants will gain an understanding of PFAS chemicals with regard to their potential health impacts, current uses in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and a replacement filter membrane recently developed by Sartorius.
