International Vaccine Institute

The International Vaccine Institute(IVI), whose headquarters are located in Seoul, South Korea, is the world's only international organization devoted exclusively to developing and introducing new-generation vaccines to protect the world's poorest children in developing countries. IVI is founded on the belief that the health of children in developing countries can be dramatically improved by the development, introduction and use of new and improved vaccines, and that these vaccines need to be developed through the dynamic interaction of the scientific community, public health organizations, and industry.

IVI conducts field research programs to accelerate the use of new and underused vaccines in 22 developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Institute also has laboratory research programs to discover and develop new vaccines at its headquarters in Seoul. It operates technical assistance programs for developing country vaccine manufacturers as well as training programs for scientists and public health professionals. To date, IVI has 39 countries and the World Health Organization as signatories to its Establishment Agreement.
