DCVMN CEO and Members at the 3rd Vaccine World Forum

From the inaugural lamp lighting ceremony to the opening keynote and leadership panel, DCVMN CEO Rajinder Suri set the tone for the third edition of the Vaccine World Forum, held this week on June 10th in Pune, India, a forum DCVMN was happy to support as Associate Partner.

Rajinder joined the inaugural lamp lighting alongside leaders from India’s vaccine ecosystem, Dr. Santosh Indraksha, Ph.D., Deputy Drugs Controller (India) CDSCO, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India,
and Dr Satyabrata Routray, Director of Infectious Diseases, South Asia, PATH, among others, before delivering the opening keynote: “Health Security Through Self-Reliance: Building an Equitable Vaccine Ecosystem for the Global South.” Drawing on the collective experience of the DCVMN network, the keynote made the case that strengthening pandemic preparedness, accelerating vaccine development and deployment, and ensuring equitable access for vulnerable populations are not parallel agendas, but integral to each other. A resilient and self-reliant vaccine ecosystem requires global collaboration and aligned policy, anchored in the realities of the manufacturers who produce the World’s vaccines.

Rajinder then joined the opening Leadership Panel, “Navigating the New Vaccine Economy: Policy Reform, Funding Realignment, and Global Impact,” moderated by Dr. Routray. The conversation brought together a strong line-up of DCVMN member voices: Dr Hitt Sharma, Medical Director at Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Partha Kumar Sarkar, Associate Vice President, Technical Operations at Bharat Biotech; and Ms. Nupur Sengupta, PhD, MBA, Senior General Manager, Global Alliance Management, Vaccines at Biological E. Limited E., a clear reflection of the depth of expertise and leadership that DCVMN member manufacturers contribute to the global ecosystem. From policy reform and innovative funding models to strengthening global vaccine access and public health outcomes, the panel offered grounded, forward-looking perspectives on the opportunities and challenges shaping the new vaccine economy.

It was a privilege to take part in a forum that, while regionally rooted, speaks directly to challenges and ambitions shared by manufacturers across the developing world.
